Saturday 29th February

Start Fishing session 1- TBA estimated 5.00 AM (this will be adjusted to give competitors greatest chance of catching fish)

Stop Fishing Session 1- TBA estimated 10.30 AM

Score sheet check-in session 1- anytime up to 11.30 AM

Collect score sheet for session 2- TBA- estimated 1.30 PM

Start Fishing session 2- TBA estimate 2.30 PM

Stop Fishing session 2- TBA estimate 6.30PM

Score sheet check for session 2- anytime before 7.30 PM

7.30 PM- Free sausage sizzle, beverages from Gladstone Fly & Sportsfishing,evening briefing, music, giveaways  

8.30 PM- Major prize/lucky Draw (3 day package with Gladstone Fly & Sportsfishing, 2 nights accomodation, 4 guided Barra fishing sessions for 2 people- valued at $2550.00)

9.00 PM- Collect score sheet

Sunday 1st March

Rules and conditions of entry:

The tournament is a Teams event, 1 entry fee per team. The person registering each team will be nominated as Captain. The Captain is held responsible for team actions. The Captain also carries automatic registration for next years event. Kayak entries will be scored as a team. 

Payment in full before registration is accepted, no exceptions- $250 for Team entry, $125 Kayak Entry

 

Re-funds offered at Tournament operators discretion only 

 

The tournament is a Teams event, 1 entry fee per team

Team captain must be at least 16 years of age unless otherwise approved by Fishing Freshwater

 

Team captain carries registration renewal preference for next year

Renewal preference for following year must be in 2 weeks after current years tournament or that position will be made available

 

All current fishing and boating rules and regulations apply

 

Fishing method is lures only- Casting and Trolling

 

Teams event- teams consisting of 1, 2 or 3 adults. Kids unlimited (Vessel must be licensed to carry nominated number of passengers) 

(kids classed as under 16)

 

Team scoring- not individual, Kayak entries included 

NO pre-fish ban

NO Fishing or Sounding between sessions

 

4 or less rods in use at one time per team

 

3 sessions- 1 Saturday morning, 1 Saturday afternoon, 1 Sunday morning

 

Start and finish times to be confirmed at briefing

 

Briefing must be attended or you must advise staff you will still be fishing if not at briefing

 

Tournament has 6 categories: 

1)Total NUMBER of fish- most fish wins (does not have to be legal size fish- is catch n release) Barramundi, Sooty Grunter, Mangrove Jack, Saratoga- Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd

2)Biggest Barramundi  

3)Smallest Barramundi

4)Biggest total length of your 3 biggest fish- prizes from 1st to 10th

5)Biggest Catfish (not counted to total number of fish)

6)Prizes for random length Barramundi chosen by GAWB (count-back goes to who caught the fish first or the closest to the nominated length) 

 

It is up to each team to correctly record each catch (Phone or Camera- photos to be available upon check-in of each session and at tournament directors request throughout the tournament)- Scoring will be done via GAWB- Track my Fish app

Fish measurements to round up. If it breaks the line it goes to the next nearest Centimeter

 

Fish to be identified/photographed on approved measuring device only with ID tag visable

 

Each team responsible for obtaining correct measuring tag before the beginning of each session

 

Team Identification tag must be shown in photo of each recorded fish

 

All fish recorded must be of legal size (measured to the tip of the tail)

 

Entries for Biggest fish must be recorded on sheet, photographed on measuring device with ID tag to clearly show recorded size and indentified upon check in.

 

Courtesy is a MUST.    

 

Any boat attempting to deliberately disturb another boats path will be disqualified.

Late check-in will be penalised at tournament operators discretion.

Incase of draw between anglers

Biggest species- call back to team that caught the fish first, then tournament operators choice

Total number of Fish and biggest 3- call back to first Sooty Grunter caught then to whoever caught the biggest fish then first fish registered then tournament operators choice 

Tournament operators word and decision is final.

There will be NO Sponsers, Please do not ask. Giveaways/prizes accepted but no sponser advertising will be given- This event is for the competitors and the event will not be held accountable to any sponsership. Entrants are permitted to represent their current sponsers and or promote the products they use.
